<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably output images of a high image quality over a long period of time by preventing an electrifying roller from being soiled with residual toner after transfer by bringing a cleaning brush into contact with the electrifying roller in a direct injection electrifying system using the electrifying roller in a cleaner-less image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In an electrifying device, the surface of a body to be electrified is electrified by the electrifying roller which is in contact with the body to be electrified. The electrifying roller comes into contact with the surface of the body to be electrified by having a difference in speed, and conductive particles are carried at the contact part between at least the electrifying roller and the body to be electrified. A cleaning brush is brought into contact with the electrifying roller, wherein the top ends of the bristles of the brush are rounded off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
