<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "magnetic recording medium consisting of perfectly c-axis orientated L10-FePt based nanoparticles", which medium simultaneously satisfies three; (1) nanoparticles, (2) a heat history process of ≤300°C (heat treatment temperature/substrate temperature), and (3) "perfect c-axis orientation. <P>SOLUTION: At least the L10-FePtCu nanoparticles or L10-FePt based nanoparticles are scattered in a low melting point oxide or low melting point metallic matrix and the L10-FePtCu crystal grains are subjected to the perfect c-axis orientation by the heat treatment and magnetic field orientation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
