PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a dimensional precision of a light incident plane by uniforming a distribution of stress remaining on a cover sheet laminated on a disk substrate under a reduced pressure environment. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing an optical disk has a pressing/laminating process for laminating a cover sheet 24 on a recording surface 14 of a disk substrate 12 via an adhesive film 28 by rotary-moving a pressing roller 102 from one end portion to other end portion on a surface portion of the cover sheet 24, while press-contacting the pressing roller 102 to the cover sheet 24 superimposed on the recording surface of the disk substrate 12, and performs the process in a vacuum tank 68 depressurized up to 10-20 Pa. Accordingly, since the cover sheet 24 can be adhered on the disk substrate 12 without forming any gap, while adding tension to the cover sheet 24, the flatness of the light incidence plane of the optical disk is improved.
