PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum alloy foil for obtaining the electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor having high capacity, high tensile strength and high bending strength. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy foil has an aluminum purity of≥99.3 wt.%. The aluminum alloy foil comprises the elements of Fe, Si, Cu, Ni, Ti, Mg, Zn and the other inevitable impurity elements. The Fe content and Mg content are correlated: the Fe is 0.003 to 0.12 mass%, and provided that the Fe content is defined as X mass%, and the Mg content as Y mass%, the following (1) to (3) are satisfied: (1), in the case of 0.003≤X≤0.015, Y satisfies 0.001≤Y≤0.005+1.25X; (2), in the case of 0.015≤X≤0.040, Y satisfies 0.0002+0.12X≤Y≤0.005+1.25X; and (3), in the case of 0.040≤X≤0.12, Y satisfies -0.02+0.625X≤Y≤0.005+1.25X.
