PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector in which stable locking state can be obtained even in a state that a slider is removed. SOLUTION: In the engagement process, a lock arm 35 runs aground to the lock part 15, and a depressed arm 52 of a slider 50 is pushed backward by a pressing part 16 of the male housing 10, thereby the slider 50 retreats elastically shrinking the compression coil spring S. When it is engaged in a regular position, the lock arm 35 returns and is locked to the lock part 15, and the depressed arm 52 is elastically displaced by a pressing release guide part 38 and the pressing state with the pressing part 16 is released, thereby the compression coil spring S is released and the slider 50 advances to the initial assembly position. At the time of separating, by pulling the slider 50 to the retreating position, the lock release depressed part 37 of the lock arm 35 is pressed by a lock release pressing part 51, and the lock arm 35 is elastically displaced, and locking state to the lock part 15 is released.
