PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by reducing heat loss at the time of heating or cooling. SOLUTION: In a chuter 2, vent holes 2a are provided at the central part of a merchandise cabinet 1, that is, at the position of the chuter 2 which corresponds to the central part between left and right sidewalls 13 of the merchandise cabinet 1. Air blown by a fan 9 to pass through the vent holes 2a is collected at the central part of the merchandise cabinet 1 to be supplied to merchandise racks 4 at a position far from the left and right sidewalls 13 of the merchandise cabinet 1. This can reduce the heat loss to the outside from the wall surfaces of the merchandise cabinet 1 which lowers wind volume hitting the left and right sidewalls 13. Since the air blown by the fan 9 is made to pass through only the vent holes 2a, a heat exchanging chamber 8 under the chuter becomes a pressure chamber. This increases the wind velocity of wind blowing out of the vent holes 2a to increase velocity components in the direction of the merchandise racks 4 so that the wind velocity hitting thewalls 13 can be lowered.
