PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toughened epoxy resin composition wherein a new polyester is added to an epoxy resin as a modifying agent. SOLUTION: This epoxy resin composition comprising an epoxy resin, a curing agent, optionally a curing accelerator, and the polyester is characterized in that the polyester is a polyester having a basic skeleton represented by formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>is a 2 to 12C alkylene) or the like.
