PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pH adjuster which can perform treatment without injecting sulfuric acid and an aqueous solution of caustic soda for neutralization in a pH treatment device for artificial dialysis waste water. SOLUTION: The pH adjuster is put in a stainless steel mesh basket or the like, and immersed in waste water in a storage tank in a waste water treatment apparatus. When acidified detergent drain flows in, the drain passes through a gap in the pH adjuster, so that the surface of the pH adjuster is dissolved and neutralization components are extracted, which increases pH to adjust it within a discharge standard range.
