<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickup device wherein temperature increase of a light source body can be prevented and whose manufacturing cost is low. <P>SOLUTION: A communication hole 55 is provided at a pickup base 51. A laser light source body 61 is disposed on one side of the communication hole 55. A grating 71 is disposed on the other side of the communication hole 55. A radiation path 81 through which the inner part of the communication hole 55 communicates with the outer part of the pickup base 51 is provided at the communication hole 55.
