<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knob operation type switching device having an excellent strength and a small installation space. <P>SOLUTION: The knob operation type switching device includes a knob holder 100 disposed on a substrate 300 in which a switch 302 is fixed, and a knob 200 pivoted by the holder. A rotary shaft 110 made of a protruding stripe of a sector-shape section is provided in the holder 100, and a rotary bearing 210 engaged with the shaft is provided in the knob 200. This shaft 110 is superposed on the bearing 210 so that the knob 200 is rotatable. Thus, since a contact area of the knob with the holder is increased as compared with a prior art, the switching device having the excellent strength can be provided.
