The carriage comprises a shell (1) provided with an intermediate floor (10) forming a separation between lower and upper floors. The intermediate floor is constituted from a lower plane (10a) and an upper plane (10b) vertically offset from each other and connected together by a junction piece (10c). The lower and upper planes extend longitudinally to the shell and each comprise a lateral edge connected to a shell lateral wall. The lower plane is connected to a staircase (5) by one of its longitudinal ends. A platform (11) supporting seats is added to the lower plane and has a length and width less than those of the lower plane so as to make a corridor between the platform and the junction piece as well as an exchange surface between the longitudinal end of the platform and the staircase.
