摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which enables the formation of a printed layer with high adhesion to a protective film. <P>SOLUTION: A primer layer 16 of the thermal transfer recording medium 10 contains an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer whose structure contains vinyl acetate of 41 wt% or more. The ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer like that has a high affinity for a main component of a pressure-sensitive adhesive of a styrene-isoprene copolymer, an acrylic copolymer and the like. Thus, when the protective film 30 is stuck on a surface, whereon the printed layer 25 is formed, via an adhesive layer 32, which is composed of the above pressure-sensitive adhesive, after the printed layer 25 is formed by using the medium 10, highly stout printed matter 20 can be obtained because a residual resin 27, which is composed of a material for the primer layer 16 and exposed on the surface of the printed layer 25, adheres to the adhesive layer 32 with no space in between. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
