<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that has an excellent overcharge prevention function and is superior in preservation characteristics at high temperatures. <P>SOLUTION: This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, and the non-aqueous electrolyte is made of a solvent and a solute dissolved in the solvent, and the solvent is made of the main solvent and a sub-solvent, and the sub-solvent is made of a compound A and a compound B that has oxidation potential 0.1-0.4 V higher than that of the compound A. The compound A is at least one kind selected from a group composed of cyclohexyl benzene, biphenyl, and diphenyl ether, and the occupying ratio of the sub-solvent in the solvent is 0.01-5wt% and the ratio of the compound B in the sub-solvent is 20-99wt%.
