<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaluating the dissociative adsorption performance of gases for accurately and simply evaluating the dissociative adsorption performance of the gases in a catalytic material. <P>SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the dissociative adsorption performance of the gases includes a first gas contact process for housing a sample in a container and bringing a first gas into contact with the sample; a second gas contact process for bringing a second gas formed of the isotope of atoms constituting the gaseous molecules of the first gas into contact with the sample; and a gas analyzing process for analyzing the gases generated by bringing the second gas into contact with the sample. By bringing each of the first gas and the second gas into contact with the sample and using the isotope exchange reaction of atoms constituting each gas, it is possible to accurately evaluate the quantity of adsorption of the gases, the state of adsorption, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
