PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finish the vulcanization molding of a green tire in a short time by heating the whole of the green tire 4 to a desired temperature quickly and surely. SOLUTION: The green tire 4, in which a belt member 56 is embedded, is preheated. The apparatus used for preheating the green tire 4 has a holding mechanism 1 for holding the green tire 4 in a predetermined posture such as a laterally turned posture or the like in a detachable manner, an induction heating mechanism 11 for induction-heating the belt member 56 by applying a high frequency magnetic field to the green tire held by the holding mechanism 1, and the first-fourth radiation heaters 15a-15d for radiation-heating a rate-determining part where a temperature rise is delayed in the induction-heating of a metal member.
