PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack which has a high energy density and is superior in safety. SOLUTION: In the battery pack 10, eight pieces of square non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries 1 are arranged in a battery pack frame 8. The secondary battery 1 is formed by laminating a positive electrode which uses lithium manganese transition metal compound oxide for the active material covered by a bag-shape separator and a negative electrode which uses graphite for the active material, by dipping them into a non-aqueous electrolytic solution, and by housing them in a battery can 15. The arrangement direction of the secondary battery 1 coincides with the laminating direction of the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The inside of each secondary battery 1 is reduced in pressure to the extent that the organic solvent of the non-aqueous electrolytic solution does not volatilize (the extent of decompression is 34-54 kPa).
