PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating roller in which rush current at starting to supply current in a fixing device can be reduced by a comparatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: This is the heating roller with which a heater lamp of which a filament is constituted of tungsten is equipped, and in which a plurality of heater lamps are arranged and installed in the interior of a roller body so as to be mutually parallel, and as for at least one heater lamp, the filament is constituted of an exothermic body in which a specific resistance value in normal temperatures is larger than that of the specific resistance value of the tungsten. Furthermore, in the case that an auxiliary heater lamp to assist start-up at starting of supply-current is provided, it is preferable that the filament of the auxiliary heater lamp is constituted of the exothermic body in which the specific resistance value at normal temperatures is larger than that of the specific resistance value of the tungsten.
