PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent continuous idle rotations of a pump and heating of a heating container without water because of failure in detecting the empty heating container when a liquid is discharged at a breakdown of liquid level detecting means or the like. SOLUTION: An electric pot is equipped with a water storage container 1 for containing the liquid, the pump 3 discharging the liquid in the water storage container 1, a clocking means 4 for measuring time for driving the pump, the liquid level detecting means 2 for detecting a liquid level in the heating container 1, and a control means 5 for heating the water storage container 1 or for controlling the drive of the pump 3 depending on the results obtained by monitoring the time measured by the clocking means 4 and a change in the liquid level detected by the liquid level detecting means 2.
