PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support grid welding process capable of confirming the quality by performing image recognition of a weld pattern of a weld spot in each spot, and performing weld management so that all the weld spots become nondefective products. SOLUTION: In this method for performing laser welding at weld spots (P1)-(P4) of the support grid (G) comprising inner straps (3) combined into a grid shape and outer straps (4) surrounding it, the weld spots (P1)-(P4) are recognized as binary image digital data by a pattern recognition device (B) after laser welding, and a weld spot (P1)-(P4) dimension is calculated based on the binary data. When the dimension is within a standard, laser welding on the position is finished and laser welding is moved to the next laser weld spots (P1)-(P4). When the dimension is below the standard on the contrary, the emission output of a laser beam (L) at the previous time is enhanced, and spot welding is repeated again until the dimension falls within the standard.
