PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molded (vulcanized) tire which has no burr and is excellent in outline precision by preventing the occurrence of rubber clipping in the joint between each of segments and each of upper and lower side plates or in the clearance between the adjacent segments in a tire molding apparatus. SOLUTION: In the tire molding apparatus having a pair of the upper and lower side plates 7 and 8 for molding the side part of the tire and a plurality of the segments 10 which are held between the side plates 7 and 8 to be arranged around them and mold the crown part of the tire, the upper and lower plates 7 and 8 are made independtly movable up and down separately from the segments 10.
