PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin powder coating composition excellent in coatability, coating film smoothness, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin powder coating composition essentially comprises a bisphenol F-type solid epoxy resin and a curing agent. In this composition, the bisphenol F-type solid epoxy resin is prepared by dissolving bisphenol F in epichlorohydrin of 0.55-0.90 mol per equivalent of the phenolic hydroxy groups in the bisphenol F and then either collectively, intermittently or continuously feeding an alkali metal hydroxide of 0.9-1.3 mol per mol of the epichlorohydrin in the form of an aqueous solution in a concentration of≥35 wt.%.
