PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver adopting the OFDM system having guard intervals that eliminates adverse effects by a correlation component of the pilot carrier and extracts only the correlation of a data carrier so as to enhance the performance of synchronization processing using a correlation arithmetic operation of the guard intervals and production of a delay profile or the like. SOLUTION: The receiver for adopting the OFDM system having guard intervals and receiving a signal to which the pilot carrier is periodically inserted, includes: a correlation arithmetic means for calculating the cross-correlation between the received signal and a signal resulting from delaying the received signal by a prescribed symbol period or a guard interval period length; a correlation arithmetic means for calculating the cross-correlation between the received signal or the signal resulting from delaying the received signal by a prescribed symbol period and a signal resulting from relatively shifting the received signal by a valid symbol period; and a means for subtracting the former result of the correlation arithmetic operation from the latter result of the correlation arithmetic operation.
