ROTARY HEAD APPARATUS AND MAGNETIC REPRODUCING DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary head apparatus which hardly chips a recording medium such as a magnetic tape and hardly gives rise to the degradation in output by spacing loss and a magnetic reproducing device using the same. SOLUTION: The rotary head apparatus 100 is constituted by curving recording medium-facing surfaces H100aA and H100bA of magnetic heads H100a and H100b mounted thereon to convexity toward the outer side of a rotary drum 10a at the vertical section on a centerline bisecting the direction orthogonal with the sliding direction of the recording medium and at the cross section orthogonal with the centerline. The shape is such that the vertex of the curving at the cross section parts gradually from the centerline toward one of the vertical directions and parts gradually opposite to the one from the centerline toward the other. The facing surfaces H100aA and H100bA are respectively 2μm in the maximum value of the distances in the cross directions between the vertexes at the one and the other and the centerline in the sliding region 126 of the recording medium.
