<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an information processing method in which written information can be protected against destruction by ending the writing operation before the DC power supply in the apparatus lowers to disable writing of information. <P>SOLUTION: A zero-cross signal is generated by detecting zero-cross of an AC power supply and power supply stop state is detected from the state of the zero-cross signal. When power supply stop state is detected during writing operation of a series of information onto a nonvolatile recording medium for storing the state information of the apparatus, storage processing subsequent to a series of storing operations (storage of a set of address, password, ID and data) onto the nonvolatile recording medium is disabled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
