<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a selective deposition modeling apparatus in an office environment by an inexpensive ventilation and cooling system capable of removing a massive amount of local heat and preventing discharge of vapor to the environment. <P>SOLUTION: The ventilation and cooling system for the selective deposition modeling apparatus dispensing a curable material captures airborne contaminants in the apparatus making the apparatus suitable for use in the office environment. A pressure drop is established within the apparatus to assure that all air entering the apparatus passes through a filter which captures the airborne contaminants before the air is discharged from the apparatus. Sensors are provided to assure that the ventilation and cooling system is functioning properly, and if not, the apparatus is either shut down or a signal is provided to an operator indicating that the system is not functioning properly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
