SOLUTION CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF POLYBENZIMIDAZOLE COMPOUND HAVING IONIC GROUP AND MOLDED PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME MOLDED PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer solution well processable into a molded product including a polyelectrolytic membrane in a polybenzimidazole compound affording a solid polyelectrolyte especially excellently usable at high temperatures and having ionic groups.

SOLUTION: An alcohol solvent containing a tetraalkylammonium hydroxide and having ≥90°C boiling point is found to be a solvent system well dissolving a compound consisting essentially of the polybenzimidazole containing the anionic ionic groups. Various kinds of molded products including a film are found to be well producible by using the resultant polymer solution.
