<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for gripping or cutting an object, capable of operating remotely or at a specific angle within a limited space (such as in the body). <P>SOLUTION: This device has (a) a hollow long-sized element and (b) at least two long-sized elements 1, 3 disposed at least partially in the hollow element, positioned side by side and respectively having body parts 5 and end parts 7. The end parts of the elements (i) can be opened in a mutually separated manner when lateral restraint is not applied, and (ii) can move toward each other and operate the object. The long-sized elements 1, 3 and the hollow long-sized element can longitudinally slide relatively to each other, and at least a part of each elements (b) can be slidingly put in and out of the hollow long-sized element (a).
