<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved treating method for waste containing toxic heavy metals, in which stability of leaching-inhibition of heavy metals after completion of the treatment is improved, and generation of matters sticking to a furnace-wall, etc. is hindered at the time of heat treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A treating agent having water glass or unhydrous water glass and a foaming agent as principal components is added to the waste containing toxic heavy metals. The mixture is kneaded and hated in the range of 200-900°C. The pH of the treating agent is adjusted to be in the range of 7-12.5 by adding an acid to the water glass or unhydrous water glass and the foaming agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
