PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce generation of abnormal noises caused by vibrations by suppressing the vibrations at a coil part 51 caused by the vibrations from an engine for an automobile, and further, to prevent fatigue failure of a torsion coil spring 50 caused by resonance in an automatic tensioner in which while a rotating member 30 is rotationly energized in the belt pressurizing direction by torsion torque of the torsion coil spring 50, the rotation is dumped by pressurizing a cylindrical part 47 of a spring support 46 so as to bring it in pressure-contact with an insert bearing on the fixed side by the pressurizing part 51a on the coil part 51 with reaction force of the torsion torque. SOLUTION: A contact part 60, which attenuates the vibrations at the coil part 51 by coming into contact with parts 51c, 51c between the pressurizing part 51a on the coil part 51 and a contacting part 51b with the boss part 31 of the rotating member 30, is provided to the cylindrical part 47.
