PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallized film capacitor which is intended to improve dielectric strength by reducing generation of heat due to a fuse when the power is supplied and by controlling temperature rise of the capacitor. SOLUTION: A pair of evaporated electrodes 1a, 1b are provided with split electrodes 2a, 2b which are connected in parallel with fuses 7a, 7b in the side opposing to the insulation margins 4a, 4b from almost the center area in the widthwise direction W at the effective electrode portion which is forming capacitance. Accordingly, since the fuses and split electrodes are provided in the region nearer to the insulation margins 4a, 4b in which the current flowing at the position isolated from a metal capacitor is gradually reduced, generation of heat due to the fuses can be reduced and thereby temperature rise can also be controlled.
