PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that if a facsimile machine is in a printing impossible state when receiving facsimile data, its message can not be confirmed soon. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine 1 is equipped with a memory which holds received facsimile data when the facsimile machine is unable to print the data out in facsimile reception, an OCR processing part 27 which creates text data by performing character recognition processing for the stored data, and a speaker 26 which voices out the text data created to notify a user of recognized character information and a display 15 which displays the text data out.
