PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized onboard antenna system with a low height capable of providing an excellent directivity characteristic. SOLUTION: Antennas each having a figure 8 directivity such as dipole antennas 11, 12 are placed by being turned within the same horizontal plane by about 90 degrees to compensate the respective directivities. Then the feeding points of the dipole antennas 11, 12 are connected to an input output terminal 16 via a mixer 15 through feeding cables 13, 14 respectively. The dipole antennas 11, 12 are placed above e.g., a roof of an upper part of a vehicle body at a prescribed interval so as to be less effected from a vehicle body metallic part. That is, the dipole antennas 11, 12 are mounted on the roof of the upper part of the vehicle body interposed with e.g., an insulator having a prescribed thickness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
