PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact short distance communication device for a slide door capable of satisfactorily performing two-way data communication by electromagnetic inductive coupling between a vehicle body side and a slide door side. SOLUTION: Data is transmitted and received by electromagnetic inductive coupling of a first antenna member 17 and a second antenna member 18 between a first communication unit 31 connected with the first antenna member 17 and a second communication unit 41 connected with the second antenna member 18. The first and second communication units 31, 41 comprise microcomputers 34, 44 and data communication circuits 33, 43 performing half duplex type two-way communication, respectively. Data communication circuits 33, 43 comprise transmission parts 33A, 43A to which clock pulses of the microcomputers 34, 44 are supplied and which transmit modulated wave on-off modulated by data of serial communication form through the antenna members 17, 18 using the clock pulses as base signals and reception parts 33B, 43B for obtaining data by receiving and demodulating the modulated wave.
