PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a lithographic plate inexpensively and economically by using an ink jet printer and to provide a method for processing the lithographic plate bringing about high-quality press printing. SOLUTION: The method for processing the lithographic plate comprises (a) a processing of lithographic printing by coating a base with a mixture containing silica, alumina and a polymer-like amine, (b) overcoating the coating formed by the above processing with a protective layer, (c) using the ink jet printer with colored ink for printing a digital image on the coated base and (d) drying an ink jet image.
