PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system automatically recording an image signal of a subject image taken and created in observing through an endoscope. SOLUTION: This endoscope system stores identification information of image sensor elements provided in an endoscope 1, an image sensor elements identification information retaining circuit 22 transmitting the identification information to a video processor 2 is provided in a camera connector 6, and a control part 23 controlling the start of the recording of the image signal based on the identification information of the image sensor elements identification information retaining circuit 22 is included therein.
