PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of early detecting wear caused in one of a plurality of rope channels provided in a drive sheave of a hoisting machine and preventing the occurrence of obstacle due to progress of wear of the rope channel. SOLUTION: When one of the plurality of rope channels 4 of the drive sheave 3 is worn more than the other rope channel, a wear channel main rope slides for the rope channel 4 if a difference in travel distance due to drive of the wear channel main rope and other main rope 5 exceeds a limit of friction force. Tensile force of the wear channel main rope at this time fluctuates greatly and suddenly, and output of a corresponding detector 13 fluctuates greatly due to sudden and great displacement of a corresponding keeping device 7 for an elevating body 6. When the fluctuation value exceeds a predetermined value, a rope channel wear determining means 15 is operated. Consequently, wear of one of the plurality of rope channels 4 can be detected and the occurrence of abnormality of the rope channel 4 can be immediately recognized through the operation of the rope channel wear determining means 15 to enable speedy countermeasure against the abnormality.
