Use of CDP-choline for before the onset of a cerebral ischemic episode

The application describes the prophylactic treatment of cerebral ischemia utilising CDP-Choline in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of patients who have undergone major surgery or are at risk of suffering an acute ischemic event. Subjects exposed to stimulants, particularly cocaine are excluded from this treatment.
