摘要 PURPOSE: A tripod constant velocity joint is provided to increase the rigidity and the durability by lowering contact pressure with transmission of torque between the spherical inner periphery of the inner roller and the spherical trunnion journal. CONSTITUTION: A tripod constant velocity joint(11) comprises a cylindrical hollow housing(14) fixed in the end of a first rotating shaft, opened in the end, and composed of a recessed groove(14a) extended axially at the trisection position in the inner periphery; a tripod(16) having a boss(16a) fixed to the end of a second rotating shaft, and a spherical trunnion journal(16b) having ends protruded radially in the trisection positions of the boss; and a roller assembly(20) having an inner roller(22) vibrated and fitted to the spherical outer periphery of the trunnion journal, and an outer roller(26) rotated and moved axially by a needle roller(24) and supported in the outer periphery of the inner roller. The outer roller is contained in the recessed groove of the housing, and rotated axially. The recessed groove is composed of a guide surface(14b) contacted to the outer periphery of the outer roller to receive load, and a guide plane(14c) guiding the outer roller axially to the housing.
