BACKLIGHT DEVICE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid being larger in size of a backlight device than effective lighting region in the case of direct backlight in which a major heat source of an electrode part of a cold-cathode tube 113 is placed outside of a lamp chamber 10 in order to prevent heating up of the sealed chamber 10.

SOLUTION: A reflecting plate 112 is inclined and placed behind the lamp chamber 10 and the electrode part 15 of the cold-cathode tube 113 is placed outside the chamber 10 to prevent heating up of the inside of the lamp chamber 10 and settle the size of the backlight to be equivalent to effective lighting region.
