<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly print image data even in the case of using a low-fast interface as an interface between a host computer and a printer. <P>SOLUTION: This method for generating receipt print data adds image data that have been already stored to accounting print data transmitted from the host computer 40 to generate receipt print data. The accounting print data generated on the basis of input information about merchandise sales and an image addition setting command for adding the print data for printing are acquired from the host computer 40. Next, the image addition setting command is analyzed and a line number showing a printing position of the image data is acquired.
