<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To answer status inquired from a network at minimum energy and a low cost even when an image forming apparatus is in a low power consumption state. <P>SOLUTION: Each of digital composite machines 101a, 101b detects its own status, and only when a mode is shifted to a low power consumption mode or the detected status information is changed, transmits the status information to a server 102. The server 102 stores the status information data of the digital composite machines 101a, 101b which are respectively transmitted from the digital composite machines 101a, 101b, and in the low power consumption mode of the digital composite machines 101a, 101b, substitutively performs inquiries from PCs 103a, 103b which are information processors to the digital composite machines 101a, 101b and transmits the stored status information of the digital composite machines 101a, 101b to the PCs 103a, 103b as answers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
