<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail order sales method capable of protecting the privacy of an orderer. <P>SOLUTION: The orderer i applies double encryption to an ordered merchandise code with two encryption keys, encrypts the two encryption keys for a relay division b and a merchandise division c and sends the encrypted merchandise code, the two encryption keys and an orderer identifier to an acceptance division (a). The acceptance division (a) sends encrypted order contents and a reference number Ref1 to the relay division b. The relay division b decrypts the encryption key for the relay division, decrypts a portion of the doubly encrypted merchandise code and sends a partially decrypted merchandise code, the encryption key for the merchandise division c and a reference number Ref2 to the merchandise division c. The merchandise division c decrypts the encryption key for the merchandise division and decrypts the merchandise code to find the name of the ordered merchandise. The merchandise division c encrypts corresponding merchandise and sends the merchandise together with a price and Ref2 to the relay division b. The relay division b encrypts the encryption merchandise and sends the merchandise together with the price and Ref1 to the acceptance division (a).
