PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of communications, to improve development efficiency of an image processing apparatus and to reduce a quantity of resources required for communications when the image processing apparatus and a communicating party mutually exchange an operation request and an operation response to the received operation request. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus having a service layer 300 for controlling operations of hardware resources for performing image processing and a plurality of applications 330 for executing operations associated with the operation request utilizing the service layer 300 as a software configuration, a message controller 40 for managing the exchange of the operation request and the operation response is provided to be utilized by the plurality of applications, the operation request to be transmitted to the communicating party and the operation response to the operation request received from the communicating party are simultaneously transmitted to the communicating party, and the operation response to the operation transmitted to the communicating party and the operation request from the communicating party are simultaneously received from the communicating party.
