A shaped body of microcellular structure which includes polyacetal is new. An Independent claim is included for preparation of the shaped body by production of a homogeneous polyacetal containing melt, dissolution of up to 30 wt.% of a fluid (nitrogen or carbon dioxide) in the polyacetal containing melt, which under plasticizer conditions is above the critical point, and filling of the mixture obtained into an injection mold.
