PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for adjusting a horizontal synchronizing signal and a vertical synchronizing signal of a display unit wherein relative positions of leading edges or trailing edges of the horizontal synchronizing signal and the vertical synchronizing signal cannot be changed even when the frequency is fluctuated. SOLUTION: The method includes: a first step of selecting a prescribed time range before and after either of the leading edge and the trailing edge of each pulse of the vertical synchronizing signal to be a dangerous range; and a second step of delaying the vertical synchronizing signal to deviate the edge of the horizontal synchronizing signal staying in the dangerous range from the dangerous range when either of the leading edge and the trailing edge of the pulse of the horizontal synchronizing signal enters the dangerous range.
