PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holding device of an impact tool that has high durability, is inexpensive, and has high operability. SOLUTION: In a locking body 5, a collision side of a tip tool 1 is made of a steel material for preventing removal of the tip tool 1. The opposite side abutting on a long hole 6a of a front cover 6 is made of elastic material, and the elastic material buffers impact received by the steel material of the locking body. A projecting section is disposed on a surface where the elastic material of the steel material of the locking body, and prevents removal of the elastic material of the locking body when it is molded.
