PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate device for a plying boat which surely opens both of a pair of door bodies by making a front end of a boat body abut against the gate and then making the boat body advance. SOLUTION: A pair of door bodies 2a, 2b are mounted inside a passage d of a connecting frame body 1 intervening in a halfway of a boom b, to be rotatable in front and rear directions of advancing of the boat body c. In the pair of the door bodies, pressing bodies 3a, 3b are mounted to project on inner end sides of the pair of the door bodies respectively, so that the front end c1 of the boat body in its advancing direction may abut against the pressing bodies 3a, 3b. An interlocking means 4 for transmitting a rotating movement of either one of the door bodies to the other door body is connected to a rotational vertical shaft 12a, 12b of the pair of the door bodies, and a door closing means W is mounted to each of the pair of the door bodies.
