PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device for a car, by which the consumption power of a portable terminal in the case of the diagnosis of a trouble is reduced while the place of the trouble is specified easily. SOLUTION: In the remote control device A for the car, request signals transmitted from LF transmission circuits 23a, 23b, 24a and 24b installed to an in-car unit 1 and LF antennas 21a, 21b, 22a and 22b connected to each LF transmission circuit are received by an LF reception circuit 32 through an LF antenna 31 mounted at a carried radio terminal 3. In the control device A, a response information is transmitted through an antenna 33 from an RF transmitter/receiver circuit 34, the response information is received by an RF unit 15 secured to the unit 1 and the operating state of an in-car loaded apparatus is controlled in response to the result of the adaptation decision of a response signal and a discriminating information peculiar to the car. In the control device A, a light-emitting diode 36 is fitted to the terminal 3, and the diode 36 is lit and driven without the transmission of the response signal when a trouble-diagnosis signal being transmitted in place of the request signals is received.
