A method of fabricating coded particles for use in chemical or biological libraries

A method of fabricating coded particles is disclosed, which comprises: providing a sheet of polymeric material on a substrate; delineating the sheet into a plurality of particles without destroying the integrity of the substrate; machine-readably encoding the particles; and removing the particles from the substrate. These coded particles are used in chemical or biological library synthesis and can also be used in methods for combinatorial chemical library synthesis.
