PURPOSE: A portable gas range with an alarm unit is provided to allow a user to immediately stop heating of the gas cartridge by generating alarm sound when a gas tank is heated over fixed temperature. CONSTITUTION: An alarming circuit(7) connected with a temperature sensor and an alarming sound generating speaker(8) are installed to a rear side of a gas cartridge storing chamber(2). The alarming circuit uses a melody chip. The temperature sensor is set to generate alarming sound by sensing in advance that temperature of a gas cartridge(5) is near explosive temperature within safe temperature range. A switch(14) is connected to the alarming circuit installed on a rear side of a gas cartridge mounting plate(12) so that the switch is turned on when the gas cartridge mounting plate is separated from the switch for use of a gas range(1) to impress signal to the melody chip built in the alarming circuit to generate operating sound different from the alarming sound. A user is allowed thereby to turn off a flame control handle(4) or a gas cartridge fixing knob(11).
